About Me

Other than becoming an economist, one of my childhood dreams was to become a fashion designer. I almost did -- I studied fashion design for a year at the University of Arts, London in the UK, before my family immigrated to Canada. During that year in London, I realized that regardless of how much I enjoyed it, fashion design is not a career that can utilize my ability and personality strength. When my family immigrated to Canada, I thought it was a chance to change my career path to pursue economics, another area of my interest. The story above is how I started to become an economist.

My final project at the end of my study in London -- a wooden dress inspired by East-Asian traditional architecture.

Other than drawing/fashion-related things, I also enjoy reading and travelling a lot. My favourite topics are history, culture, economics, and mysteries.  I believe history and culture help us understand politics and economies because history and culture tell us the background story of each political and economic decision of a country. Travelling complements historical and cultural knowledge from the books. In my opinion, meeting local people and the first-hand experience of travelling help me build a complete understanding of a country.
